Robotic Photogramming

Conceived as an entry point into robotics, this workskop bridges digital and analog ways of thinking and making. Converting our robotics lab into a darkroom, we used the robot to conduct light experiments directly onto baryta paper and through long exposures, together with our photographer. The resulting structures exist somewhere between digitally drawn and analogically exposed. Hands-on and open to all — including first-semester students — these workshops create broad access to robotics, photography, and the space between Grasshopper and the darkroom.
