Robotic Recarpentry investigates the sustainable transformation of the construction sector through the reuse, repair and adaptation of existing timber resources. Situated at the intersection of traditional carpentry, material research and robotic fabrication, the project explores how heterogeneous reclaimed wood can be digitally captured, analyzed and transformed into new architectural interventions. Framing the existing building stock as a resource, adaptation as a design strategy and repair as a creative act, it develops experimental workflows that combine scanning technologies, parametric design tools and robotic manufacturing with craft-based knowledge. Through iterative cycles of observation, simulation and fabrication, the project contributes to more circular, resilient and resource-conscious approaches to architecture and construction.
